Based on Whidbey Island, Trio Nouveau features lyrical interpretations of the Great American Songbook by guitarist Keith Bowers, vocalist Molly Felder, bassist Kristi O’Donnell and the clarinet and saxophone of Tobi Stone

Keith Bowers is a much admired finger style guitarist who has performed at the Whidbey Island Guitar Festival, Oak Harbor Music Festival, Djangofest NW, Manouche NW, Choochokum Arts Festival, and the Whidbey Island Bluegrass festival as well as on the international stage at the Django Sur Lennon Festival in Donegal, Ireland.

Keith performs as a soloist and with Trio Nouveau. Past collaborations include the ensembles Billet Deux, The Hot Club of Troy, Stone Road, Swords into Plowshares and the Dewey Decibels.

He has composed music for feature films, TV and radio commercials and CD’s of original compositions.

Keith is currently the curator and presenter for the Sno-Isle Regional Libraries program, The World of Music, bringing musicians of different genres together in performance.

Keith holds degrees in music theory and classical guitar, and is a recipient of the Washington State Artists Trust Award for Music.

Molly Felder, well loved vocalist with Trio Nouveau, is based on Whidbey Island. She is a Nashville recording artist and multi-instrumentalist. Molly, with her husband and drummer Mickey Grimm, moved to Whidbey Island to raise their musically gifted son, Grafton. 

Molly is a member of Swan Dive, an American Bossa nova/pop musical duo together with Bill DeMain. They have appeared on Late Night with Conan O’Brien, and opened shows for Norah Jones, Over the Rhine and Sixpence None the Richer. Their music has been heard on television shows such as Felicity, The L Word and Unfabulous. The group has attracted fans both on the local scene and abroad, particularly Japan, Korea and Thailand, where they’ve earned four Top 10 singles along with television appearances and multi-city tours. In early 2002, Swan Dive’s Circle won in The 1st Annual Independent Music Awards for Pop Song. 

Molly has backed well-known artists including Amy Grant, Michael McDonald, Don Henley and Ricky Skaggs. Her voice can be heard on national advertising campaign jingles including Pepsi, Michelob and Chevrolet. She is also vocalist/percussionist in Café Impromptu Quintet and performs with The Hot Club of Troy.

Kristi O’Donnell, multi-disciplined artist, is a double bassist whose playing is rhythmically driving and harmonically direct.  

She is the co-founder of Trio Nouveau and the founder of the all female ensemble Café Impromptu (2015 to present). She performs regularly in the PNW as the bassist for Trio Nouveau, Café Impromptu, Swords into Plowshares, The Dewey Decibels and Wittlich/Chapman Quartet. 

Kristi has performed with The Hot Club of Troy 2008-2023, on stage at Djangofest NW 2015-2022, The Whidbey Island Guitar Festival, Django Sur Lennon Manouche Festival, Donegal, Ireland, Manouche NW and numerous festivals and venues in the PNW.

She has produced dozens of music events on Whidbey Island including the Bluegrass Festival at Meerkerk Gardens, Whidbey Island Folk Festival, Mother’s Day Concert on the Lawn and Festival of Flowers & Fairies, and has been on the Whidbey Island Center for the Arts stage in many capacities.

Tobi Stone grew up in Washington State in a musical family, learning guitar from a young age. She studied music at University of Washington graduating with a Bachelors in Music Performance with an emphasis in Jazz Studies. Based in Seattle, Tobi plays and teaches Saxophone, Clarinet, Flute, and beginning Piano and Guitar. She is a member of member of Earshot Jazz

Over the last 25 years, Tobi has performed professionally with several bands, touring and recording with The Tipton’s Saxophone Quartet across Europe and the US, 2002-2007 and with Reptet Jazz Septet in the US, 2001-2008. She performed as the first woman instrumentalist with The Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra from 2012-2015 and has played with The 5th Avenue Theatre, The Village Theatre and Spectrum Dance Studio Theatre. She has also performed on live radio and TV broadcasts for KEXP, KPLU, Seattle Joe TV, and KING 5 TV. 

Tobi has appeared with Dave Brubeck and Branford Marsalis, has performed with The Seattle Symphony Orchestra, The Tacoma Symphony Orchestra and Seattle Women’s Jazz Orchestra. 

Tobi currently plays in Seattle-based projects, The Tobi Stone Jazz Quartet and The Jean Lenke Jazz Therapy West Quintet. She performs with the all female ensemble Café Impromptu as special guest.
